With one used service truck and a commitment to excellence, Cary Services, Inc. was established in March of 1994 in Abilene, Texas by our Chairman and CEO, Mark Cary. Instead of marketing gimmicks, we sought to build a customer base by cold calling face to face and with customer references one by one.
The company was formed to provide HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration), Building Automation and Energy Management design, installation, retrofit, emergency repairs and preventative maintenance services primarily for a commercial and industrial client base in West Texas. Mr. Cary had a previous fourteen-year work history that included work as a service technician for United Technologies/Carrier Building Services, service technician then service manager for Johnson Controls, and service manager then general manager for Anthony Mechanical Services Inc., a LINC franchise.
In March of 1995, Tony Cary joined the family business from Johnson Controls and now serves as a ownership partner as well as Vice President of Field Operations.
In April of 1997 as a result of customer demand for our product, Cary Services began providing services in the Big Spring, Midland and Odessa area. In July of 2000, as a result of increasing our workforce to six employees to meet demand in this area, Cary Services purchased a permanent office/shop in Big Spring.
In January of 1999 the purchase of a 25-year-old company, Abilene Ice Machine Co. was completed. This purchase increased Cary Services’ capabilities to include the lease and sell of the top names in the ice machine industry. Cary Services now has over 300 machines under lease and is the authorized warranty dealer and CSR (contracted service representative) for these high-quality products.
In 2002, Fulfilling a commitment to our customers in the San Angelo territory, we began providing services with local service technicians.
In January of 2006 our clientele knocked and once again we answered by opening a location in the metroplex market of Dallas/Fort Worth with local service technicians.
Then again in 2013 we opened our doors to another branch in Houston, meeting our customers’ demands in another area of Texas.
Covering over 100,000 square miles and stretching from far west Texas all the way down into southeast Texas we continue to maintain the same great quality that Cary Services was founded upon.
Currently, Cary Services has hundreds of preventative maintenance agreements. Our goal through administration of these programs is to reduce our clients’ owning and operating cost of their equipment by providing proper and timely preventative maintenance with highly motivated and qualified service technicians backed by a professional and experienced management staff.
